In 2009 on the occasion of the Frankfurt book fair ABUS was presented with the "German Standard Brand Award" and thereby honoured as "Brand of the century". "The presentation of the cream of German brands is naturally also an overall view of the German economy's performance", said publisher Dr. Florian Langenscheidt. In the book of the same name, a total of 281 brands were presented. The brands presented in this standard work were selected by an advisory council of 8 German brand experts.
