Affordable standard cameras record detailed and sharp surveillance images under ideal conditions. However, they do have their limitations under difficult conditions. For example, where there is not enough light, or there are strong contrasts, poor weather conditions, or the site is difficult to monitor. • WDR for improved recordings in areas with backlight
• DNR, AES and so on for optimizing lighting conditions
• Cameras with an infrared cut filter for use at night, together with infrared illumination
• High IP protection class for use in dusty locations or in outdoor areas. For example, protection class 66 tells you that the camera is dustproof and protected against strong jets of water
• Cameras with pan/tilt/zoom function (PTZ) for objects, where big areas or zones which are difficult to monitor are to be secured continuously, in overview and in detail.
